The Ukraine National Team's uniform for Euro 2020
On June 6, the new kit of the Ukrainian national team, in which the team will play at Euro 2020, was officially presented.
The highlight of the kit was the outline of the map of Ukraine, including Russian-occupied Crimea and Donbas. The slogan "Glory to Ukraine!" appeared on the back of the shirt, with "Glory to the Heroes!" on the reverse side.
The kit caused a barrage of criticism in Russia. There, they demanded that UEFA ban this kit. At first, UEFA stated that the Ukrainian national team's kit did not violate anything and had been approved for use at Euro 2020.
On June 8, Russia officially complained to UEFA about the Ukrainian national team's kit.
The next day, UEFA obliged the Ukrainian national football team to remove the slogan "Glory to the Heroes" from the new kit. Ukraine is currently negotiating with UEFA to keep this inscription.
