Stanislav Bogdanovich
The bodies of the deceased Ukrainian chess players Stanislav Bogdanovich and Oleksandra Vernyhora have been found in Russia.
Stanislav Bogdanovich was a grandmaster from Odesa and the 2013 Ukrainian rapid chess champion. Oleksandra Vernyhora was also a chess player and played for the Ukrainian national team. The 18-year-old girl studied at one of the Moscow universities.
On March 2, Bogdanovich got into a scandal. The chess player boasted that he had played for the Russian team against Ukraine. For this, as well as for his statements, he was added to the Myrotvorets database.
