For half a year now, the sports community has been following the course of EPL football matches. This tournament will run until April 2022 – during this time the leading teams of England and Wales will find out who will receive the English Premier League Cup.

What is known about the EPL

EPL football is a benchmark competition in which only British clubs can take part. The heavyweights of English football include 20 clubs, among them:

  • Manchester United,

  • Liverpool,

  • Arsenal,

  • Chelsea,

  • Manchester City and others.

The EPL is the most popular league among sports viewers, as well as the most profitable tournament in the world. The competition is held annually – during this time the teams play 380 matches – 10 matches in each of 38 rounds.

EPL – team table 2021/2022

The English Premier League season began at the end of summer 2021. The competition has already passed its halfway point – only a few months remain until the end of this year's league.

Based on the match results, there are already leaders – teams quite traditional for the English division. What makes the English Premier League surprising is that the standings table changes after every match.

According to the EPL standings as of February 2022, the most successful teams this season are:

  • Manchester City – 63 points from 26 games;

  • Liverpool – 57 points from 25 matches;

  • Chelsea – 50 points from 25 games;

  • Manchester United – 46 points from 26 games;

  • And West Ham United with 42 points from 26 games.

Manchester City has been surprising fans with its success for several seasons – at last year's tournament the team won the main cup. But despite Manchester City's promising play, the absolute record holder of the competition is Manchester United – a team from the same city, which has won the tournament as many as 13 times in its entire history.

Who will receive the winner's trophy this time is unknown, as the matches are still ongoing. Read information about match results, EPL news, transfers and footballers' records on Channel 24.
