one of the aquatic sports. At competitions, dives are performed from a springboard (1 and 3 meters) and a platform (5, 7.5 and 10 meters). During the dive, athletes perform a series of acrobatic moves (somersaults, twists, rotations). The judges evaluate both the quality of the acrobatic elements in the flight phase and the cleanness of the entry into the water. In synchronized diving competitions, the synchronization of the elements performed by the two participants is also evaluated. Diving competitions are held by the International Amateur Swimming Federation (FINA). Diving is part of the World Aquatics Championships program.Diving is an Olympic sport.
